Tom Holland and Zendaya want Timothée Chalamet to play iconic Spider-Man villain
Do you agree with the co-star couple? (Picture: WireImage)
Timothée Chalamet could soon be joining the cast of Spider-Man – if Tom Holland and Zendaya get their way, that is.
The pair are currently on the promotional trail for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is set to be released in cinemas just days from now.
Tom, who plays the iconic webslinger, and Zendaya, who plays MJ, have been discussing who they would like to join the cast, revealing they had an answer at the ready.
Zendaya recently appeared in mammoth sc-fi adventure Dune alongside Timothée, and was asked in an interview with AP Entertainment how she thinks her former co-star could fit into the MCU.
She and Tom immediately referenced the Call Me By Your Name star, with Tom saying he ‘would be a good Harry Osborn’.
Zendaya agreed, saying : ‘I think he would be a good friend of Spider-Man – or foe of Spider-Man!’
‘I think it would be good to bring him in as a [friend of Spider-Man] and then he kind of becomes bad,’ Tom mused.
‘And then he could be a villain. He’d be a good villain!’

Riffing on the idea, the stars suggested that Timothée could be ‘kicked out of the friend group’ after trying to hit on MJ, and that could be enough to turn him evil.
To those in the know – or at least those who have seen Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man series – Harry is the son of Normon Osborn, aka The Green Goblin.

In the original live-action franchise, Harry avenged his father by becoming the new Goblin, swearing to kill Spider-Man despite he and Peter having been close friends.

With Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin confirmed to be returning in No Way Home, it does leave an opening for a new Harry to make an appearance.

Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released on December 15.
