“Hopping Off One Bandwagon To Another”: Fans Roast Former NBA Champion For His Bizzare Claims About Kevin Durant

ESPN sports analyst Kendrick Perkins is a former basketball player in the NBA. Recently, he remarked on Twitter that Brooklyn Nets player Kevin Durant may be in the running for Defensive Player of the Year this season. Durant contributed to the team’s success with an average of 0.8 blocks and 0.7 steals per contest. Other than that, he averaged 28.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game.

When analyzing statistics through NBA’s defensive rating, Brooklyn Nets are ranked sixth-best for their defensive performance.

We already know that Kevin Durant is one the Best Scorers to ever play this game… but one can make the case that he needs to be in the DPOY conversation THIS season! Carry on…

Perkins said Kevin Durant should be the DPOY

Durant’s ability to lock up his opponent during crunch situations may explain why Perkins thinks Durant deserves the title of DPOY.

Durant’s contributions to the Nets this season cannot be overlooked, as he has done his best in every area and he used his experience to lead them to the top spot in Eastern Conference.

According to this tweet, the fans don’t appear to be very happy with Perkins as they are giving him a ton of hate for commenting on Durant. After the tweet, Durant fans started roasting Perkins for his comments. Durant, as in the previous game, made 31 points, including the go-ahead jumper midway through the fourth quarter. As a result, the nets were 103-95 up at the end of that period.

Yo Perk, good to see you hopping off 1 bandwagon and onto another

Is there a crack problem at the espn offices today?

Imo the most underrated defender in the game. Changed the whole game in the 4th by picking up Trae. And even in the beginning altered so many shots at the rim.

No he can’t. Lol. Why? Because he uses his 7’ frame to block a few shots? He guarding Embid? Jokic?

— TheFoulTruth (@1brianism) December 11, 2021

There is literally no conversation for him to be the DPOY

— Jordan Poole Enthusiast (@DizzleWitDaTool) December 11, 2021

WHAT? You must not be watching the games cause aint no way he’s even top 10

— Sheem (@sheeme631) December 11, 2021

Major facts he’ll finally make an all defensive team this year (should have already made multiple)

In the absence of Kyrie Irving, James Harden and Kevin Durant lead the team. Because of Harden’s performance, the Nets aren’t making it easy to make the basket. This may get a bit cumbersome for Durant, but he is handling it pretty well since Harden’s performance and Irving’s suspension could cause the team to lose sight of what he is doing. This may get a little hectic for Durant, but he is handling it pretty well.
