Back in 1996, the sport of boxing got one elite star in Floyd Mayweather, who went on to cement his legacy. Back then, nobody expected Mayweather to have such a decorated pathway in the sport. However, defying all the odds, the Michigan native went on to prove his mettle to one and all. Alongside that, Mayweather won belts at many weight classes coupled with some stupendous accolades.

Talking about accolades, ‘Pretty Boy’ recently got awarded with The Joe Louis Fighter of the Decade Award. Mayweather wasn’t present at the event to collect this award.

As a result, his longtime friend and the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, collected this on his behalf.

Mayweather‘s style of fighting was completely different from others. Prior to him, no one ever showcased such tremendous defense abilities. His slick head movements, that iconic shoulder roll, and his ability to cut the gap made Mayweather a true icon of defense boxing style.

Not just this, but Mayweather possessed some vital knockout power too, because of which he attained 27 wins by T/KO. In all, ‘TBE’ always came in with a packed game plan, and he always looked to demolish his opponents with his curated style.

Mayweather fought Canelo in 2013, and this was one of the few fights wherein he showed his oppressive boxing skills. ‘TBE’ schooled the young gun in Canelo by going after him from the first bell itself, eventually winning the fight in a dominant way.

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao 

The richest fight in boxing history had all the ingredients to lure any boxing lover. Mayweather and ‘Pac Man’ were both veterans in this fight. However, ‘TBE’ fought like a 20-year-old, and most of the time, he kept Pacquiao confused with his defense. Consequently, he bagged an easy win in one of the biggest fights of his life.

This was Mayweather’s last pro-boxing bout against the UFC striking elite. Mayweather let McGregor dictate the pace of the fight initially. But from round 4, he began with his counterattacks to push ‘The Notorious’ on a back foot. Finally, in round 10, Mayweather concluded the fight with a T/KO.
