England cricketer Kevin Pietersen wasted absolutely no time in shutting down Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain today, telling him he was ‘doing everyone’s head in’ over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Broadcaster Piers has barely been able to stop talking about Harry and Meghan over the last weeks, condemning their upcoming interview with Oprah Winfrey as ‘bad for the country’, and saying Harry’s interview with James Corden was ’embarrassing’.
Today, Piers continued to slate Meghan, mocking backlash she’s received amid claims she had bullied palace staff members.
So when Kevin appeared on the show ahead of this weekend’s cricket match in India, Piers had barely finished his introduction when he swooped in and shut him down.
‘Oh I’m so glad, good morning. I’m so happy I moved on from Harry and Meghan,’ Kevin said.
‘Can you just leave them alone please Piers? You’re doing everyone’s head in.’

A stunned Piers defended his questions saying that they ‘don’t want to be left alone or they wouldn’t be doing primetime interviews’ but Kevin persisted.
‘You know how they’re dealing with this, just leave them alone,’ he reiterated, responding with ‘leave them alone’ to every rebuttal he had.
Susanna Reid eventually put her head in her hands as the two had the repetitive clash, neither willing to back down.
‘How are we still talking about them?!’ she told them both, finally managing to get a word in before the interview began.

But while Susanna was getting one hell of a headache, viewers were praising Kevin for stepping in and shutting Piers down.
‘Kevin Pietersen telling Piers Morgan to leave Harry & Meghan alone …..Oh my days I love it !!!,’ one wrote, while another said he ‘opened the conversation so brutally and brilliantly.’
‘Kevin pietersen thank you for saying leave them alone,’ added another. ‘You’ve just said what most of us are saying at home if Harry and meghan want to talk to the media so be it more to talk about in the world.’
‘Thank you Kevin Pietersen! You’ve just spoken for the whole nation. He’s right @piersmorgan leave Harry & Meghan alone,’ said another. ‘2 interviews is not “endless interviews…”’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
