I’m A Celebrity 2021: Fans insist show ‘not right’ in Wales as they beg for return to Australia

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! 2021 has wrapped for another year, however, fans have declared they don’t want to see a fresh group of stars entering Gwrych Castle, again.

Sunday’s final saw former Emmerdale actor Danny Miller being crowned King of the castle, with soap star Simon Gregson as runner-up and Loose Women presenter Frankie Bridge finishing in third place.

The episode also marked the end of a rather turbulent series, and fans are already planning ahead for what they want and don’t want to see ahead of next year’s show.

As viewers shared their general overview of series 21 it’s safe to say that the majority would prefer the programme go on hiatus if Covid travel restrictions were still in force next year.

One frustrated viewer wrote: ‘I’m a Celeb 2021 has been my least favourite series that I’ve ever watched. I hope that it will be back in Australia next year. #ImACeleb.’

Another explained they found it hard to enjoy the popular programme after Good Morning Britan presenter Richard Madeley left the show early on due to a sudden illness.

The next series of I’m A Celebrity needs to happen back in Australia again however long that will be ok to happen. It’s not right having it in Wales. #ImACeleb

Found it hard to get in to this years I’m a Celebrity series since Richard Madeley left. I definitely think the show isn’t the same by not being in Australia – hope it makes a return there next year

This just sums up how awful the trials have been this year, I really hope they go back to Australia next season so they can return to semi drowning celebs#ImACeleb #ImACelebrity

Despite this, others still embraced the series in Wales and praised producers for doing what they could amid restrictions and wild weather, which plagued production.

One viewer expressed a contrasting opinion to the majority and tweeted: ‘Loved every minute his year, please keep it in Wales!! Well done @DannyBMiller #ImACelebrity.’

We love a show ending montage
The editors deserve every pay rise and of course the producers who decide the music

They have done well with what they could do with Wales#ImACeleb

Quite a few viewers were pro Wales

According to a poll created by The Sun, a lot of viewers believe most of the trials were too easy and didn’t compare to previous seasons.

A source said: ‘The programme’s always been seen as the hardest of the big reality shows, but this year people seem to think it was too straightforward.

‘The castle was a worthy venue for a year, but the viewers clearly want Australia or nothing.

‘The novelty of a new location was exciting last year, but in 2022 it just has to be Oz again.’

This year’s I’m A Celebrity got off to a pretty rocky start after Storm Arwen forced the celebrities into isolation and the show was taken off-air for four nights.

Despite all of this, viewers have been treated to some quality entertainment from presenters Ant and Dec, who have had us laughing with their cheeky remarks over Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
