Countdown viewers all have the same complaint as Rachel Riley is missing from latest episode
COUNTDOWN viewers all have the same complaint after Rachel Riley was missing from the latest episode.
The 35-year-old co-presents the Channel 4 show with Anne Robinson, however, she was absent from today’s episode.
Rachel Riley was missing from today’s Countdown
Rachel has gone on maternity leave and has been replaced by Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon
Rachel was heavily pregnant in last week’s episodes, as she was expecting her second baby during filming.
However, Friday’s episode saw her bid farewell to the show to head off on maternity leave, and viewers missed her in the first of this week’s shows.
To add salt to their wound, Susie Dent was also missing, with Anne explaining she was “away having a Covid test.”
Rachel was replaced by Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon who did a perfectly good job, but for many, it wasn’t the same without Rachel.
Taking to Twitter, one Countdown viewer wrote: “#Countdown without Rachel AND Susie seems almost unthinkable. It’s like a whole new programme… @Channel4@RachelRileyRR@susie_dent.”
Another added alongside a picture of Rachel wearing a festive jumper with two Christmas puddings: “

Good afternoon Rachel.. I prefer this jumper Winking faceFace with tears of joy
I’m now having [tea and biscuits emojis] watching Countdown.. without you, or Susie ! x”.
Rachel gave birth to her second daughter Noa with husband Pasha Kovalev on November 5.
Anne announced Rachel’s departure at the end of Friday’s show, saying: “We’re saying goodbye to Rachel.”
Rachel joked: “Yes, I’ve had word from Channel 4, apparently one mash-up is enough for this show…
“They don’t want it to turn into One Born Every Minute. So I’m being retired off to have my baby.
“My other babies, the numbers tiles, are going to be looked after Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon.”
Countdown airs weekdays at 2.10pm on Channel 4.
