Ronan Keating has shown support for his daughter Missy in quite a unique way after she announced she’ll be joining Ireland’s Dancing With The Stars.

It’s clear the Boyzone frontman, who shares three children, Jack, Missy, and Ali, with his ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, is one proud dad right now as Missy, 20, will be taking to the dancefloor on the hit dance show.

Sharing the good news on Instagram, Missy wrote: ‘Ahhhh @dwtsirl 2022 HERE WE GO. Honestly this still doesn’t even feel real!!

‘I am so excited to share that I will be hitting the iconic dance floor come January in true glitz and glam style!

‘The last couple of weeks in rehearsals have been insane, my partner and I have been having so much fun and I’m blown away with what I’ve already learnt. Shakira was right… these hips don’t lie!!!’

The No Matter What singer also couldn’t help but reference the multi-award-winning Columbian musician in the comments as he reacted to the news.

‘Shakira, Shakira,’ Ronan replied cheekily.

Simple, yet effective, we guess?

Proud stepmother Storm Keating added: ‘Woooohooooooo best casting decision ever! We are so proud of you Moo and can’t wait to see you light up those Irish TV screens, you are going to kill it.’

Speaking to Roman and Martin Kemp on their show Sunday Best last year, Ronan expressed how confident his daughter was after rumours swirled over her entering the Love Island villa.

Roman said his daughter Missy is a ‘grafter’ (Picture:Ken McKay/ITV/REX)

Ronan, who also has two children, Cooper and Coco with his wife Storm, went on to add: ‘She’s beautiful, she’s got her head on her shoulders, she’s very, very… she’s a grafter.

‘I mean, my dad taught all of his kids to be the grafter and work hard.’

Missy previously stressed she didn’t want a leg up in the industry because of her dad’s success.

She insisted to The Irish Sun: ‘I want to get there on my own so I prefer not to mention my family name when we’re doing gigs. I don’t want my dad to be the reason we get gigs.’
