Rhea Ripley was gutted back in October when her luggage went missing including her WWE ring gear, Women’s Tag Team Championship and more – and now she’s opened up on the whole ordeal.
The Nightmare, who has since lost the titles as she and Nikki A.S.H. were beaten by Carmella and Queen Zelina last month, was left devastated when a bag containing her wrestling outfits and memories fell out of the back of her car and seemed to have been taken from the roadside.
She exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘Everything! It was such a fluke thing as well. We were driving, I heard a noise and I was like, “What was that?” Then I heard it again and the trunk was open.
‘I don’t know how it opened, but I know I closed it! So it somehow opened, my suitcase fell out the car. We only drove five minutes and we went back around three times and it was nowhere.’
Thankfully, a few weeks later Rhea has been able to laugh off the incident, and she joked her missing ring gear was ‘so sweaty’.
‘I thought it would be on the side of the road somewhere but someone must’ve picked it up. And someone’s enjoying some really sweaty Rhea Ripley clothes. I hope they washed it,’ she howled. ‘I legit was so sweaty! It was disgusting.’
Rhea had a show to do that night for WWE, and ended up turning to fellow Raw superstar Damian Priest to borrow his pants and get through her match.
‘Losing all my stuff – legit, I have one pair of pants. One pair of gear pants, that’s all I had,’ she admitted. ‘So, losing that and losing the title, and having to wear Damian Priest’s pants – and them fitting me better than they fit him!
‘It was hilarious! I remember putting them on and I walked out, and they fit. He’s like, “I hate you!” Everyone that walked past was like, “Woooow! We didn’t realise you had another pair of pants?” “They’re not my pants! [laughs]’
The Archer of Infamy was happy to help out his friend with ‘no hesitation’, and he revealed there’s been a long-standing joke about their similar styles even before the incident.

‘No hesitation,’ he smiled. ‘We’ve always joked that our gear looks similar anyway, so it’s a matter of, “Will it fit?” She had to makes some alterations but she made it work. Had she not said anything, no one would have even known!’
Rhea admitted her own response to the ordeal was significant, as she managed to not have ‘a mental breakdown’ or get too overwhelmed during what was a pretty awful situation.
‘[My reaction] was definitely a big deal for me. I’m very proud of myself for not completely stressing out and having a mental breakdown, because all my gear was in there,’ she said.

‘All my memories, my WrestleMania gear, everything that I loved was in that bag. My favourite jacket that I made was in that bag. So, I was really upset about that but luckily I was actually travelling with Tamina and she’s so calm, cool and collected.
‘She’s like a mom to us all, and seeing her not stress out and be so chill about it sort of helped me relax and not stress too much about it, and just run with it.’
Rhea laughed: ‘Life is bigger than a pair of pants!’
*WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on BT Sport. WrestleMania 38 takes place Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Travel packages are now on sale.
