Pro-Wrestler Jimmy Rave Passes Away Just Days After 39th Birthday

It is another immense loss for the pro wrestling industry. James Michael Guffey, who was better known as Jimmy Rave, passed away just days after his 39th birthday. Though Rave was known for stealing his opponent’s finishing moves, he was one of the biggest stars who earned a name for himself wrestling on the independent circuit.

Jimmy Rave suffered a lot during the last few years. In November 2020, Rave even announced his retirement from in-ring action. He revealed he suffered an infection and his left arm would need amputation above the elbow. He made it official by posting a tweet and thanked everyone, starting from his fans to his mentors. Later, both his legs got amputated as well. But no one could never think that he will die one year later.

Bill Behrens, who is Jimmy Rave’s long-time friend, announced on Twitter earlier that Jimmy is no longer with us. In the post, Bill also mentioned that Jimmy’s daughter, Kailah, also assisted him in writing this note.

In the note, Bill mentioned about Jimmy’s achievements and the health problems Jimmy suffered. He further mentioned that at the time of death, Jimmy Rave was living in the Philadelphia, PA area with Gabby Gilbert. He also announced that memorial services will be held in Georgia and details for that will be out soon.

Jimmy Rave wrestled almost everywhere across the globe

Jimmy became a veteran in the world of professional wrestling after wrestling for over 2 decades. He wrestled in several promotions, such as Combat Zone Wrestling, Dragon Gate, Full Impact, Ring of Honor and Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling.
He also appeared in New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2008 Best of the Super Juniors Tournament, where he finished with six points. Jimmy made his debut when he was just sixteen years old. In the beginning, he was known as “Mr. XTC” but later adopted the name “Jimmy Rave”.

Rave got his first major push after he became a member of The Embassy in Ring of Honor. That sparked Rave’s wrestling career. He later made a name for himself in TNA as well. Jimmy even appeared in WWE in 2005 during an episode of Sunday Night Heat.

Not only did he fight across the entire globe, he even battled against some of the biggest stars in the pro wrestling industry- CM Punk, AJ Styles, Tommaso Ciampa and Daniel Bryan. It might have been really heartbreaking for the fans to hear about Jimmy Rave’s death.
