“I Didn’t Consent to That at All” – UFC Fighter Sean Strickland Choked at SUG 29
MMA fighters know better than anyone else how dangerous exposing your back to an opponent can be. Getting choked by a trained opponent can be deadly. But for MMA fighters, it is a part of their daily life. Hence, fighters seem to have a different sense of humor. Something similar is the case of Sean Strickland.

In a recent grappling match at SUG 29, spectators saw Strickland tapping out after getting caught in a rear-naked choke. Andy Varela and Strickland seemed to have fun and none of them were taking it seriously.
When Strickland turned his back, Varela quickly jumped onto his back and choked him. Strickland had to tap to get out of the situation. However, both the fighters were laughing at the end.
Strickland retweeted the video and wrote, “Lol!!!! You think I would of expected that but I thought we were wrestling! I guess I should of known from the name “SUBMISSION underground” lol!!!!”

It seems that he wasn’t aware he took part in a submission wrestling match.
Surely a costly mistake. After the fight, he tweeted a video and was heard saying, “I think I should stick to kick-boxing.” In the caption, he wrote, “I didn’t consent to that at all lol!!!!”

Ex UFC fighter Chael Sonnen was on commentary duties and found the situation hilarious and could not stop laughing.
What’s next for Sean Strickland?
Strickland has had a great MMA career so far. The 24-3-0 record holder is currently on a 5-fight winning streak. He has crafted a name for himself in the UFC’s middleweight division.
Strickland was scheduled to fight Luke Rockhold in November. However, Rockhold pulled out because of injury, and hence, the bout didn’t take place. Since then, he has been itching for a fight. Fortunately, Strickland is expected to be seen fighting against Jack Hermansson in February 2022. This would be one exciting fight to witness.
