This Morning welcomed Scott Fisher onto the show, who is running 27 marathons in aid of his wife Megan, and soon raised over £100,000 for the cause.

Scott appeared on the show ahead of being sent on his fifth marathon from Gillingham in Kent.

He offered up an emotional story as to why he was doing the mega challenge, inspired by Eddie Izzard.

His wife Megan who has Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, has to take 27 pills every day in order to stay alive, and he explained she had recently taken a turn for the worst.

But Scott’s enthusiasm shone through and quickly connected with viewers.

It didn’t take long for those watching at home to put their full support behind him, and fans soon flooded his page with donations, meaning within an hour he had raised £100,000.

Rochelle Humes and Vernon Kay offered updates throughout after the show itself had donated £1,000 to the cause.

Vernon said: ‘He started off talking to us and he’d raised £7,000.

‘The Just Giving page details are on the screen, This Morning viewers you are absolutely fantastic,’ he remarked, with Scott having doubled his target at this point.

The host added: ‘She takes 27 pills to keep her alive, that’s why Scott got really emotional, you guys are absolutely awesome!’
