Ubisoft Finally Confirm Splinter Cell Remake Will Come to Life in Toronto

Ubisoft’s epic climb towards the precipice of the gaming industry didn’t come so easily. The studio’s relentless approach to producing amazing gaming titles in the decade of 2000 saw the birth of powerful entrants like Assassin’s Creed, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, and many more. Notably, these games are still regarded as some of the best things that Ubisoft has ever produced.

According to a recent update, from Geoff Keighley, it seems like the French game development studio is bringing back the original Splinter Cell title. The studio has decided to appoint the project to its Toronto-based team and they have already kick-started the hiring process.

The studio also shared the announcement from its official Twitter handle with a blog post offering more details. Old-school gamers would know what it was like to jump into the shoes of everyone’s beloved spy, Sam Fisher. The original title did not make things easier for fans and offered no additional help to solve the elaborate puzzle. Gamers had to fight tooth and nail with each aspect of the level to figure out how to resolve it.

The studio has promised that the remake will adhere to the norms and rules that were followed way back in the day to produce the game. The team will only spend time overhauling the game’s performance, upgrading its visuals and innovations will only be added wherever it is needed.

Ubisoft’s Tronto studio played a key role in building the title back in the day. The amazing action franchise helped the studio to grow and become a marquee name within the industry. This time around, the game will be built from scratch, making use of the Snowdrop engine. However, fans can rest easy as the studio promises to keep everything closer to the source material.
