After joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tom paved the way for the team to clinch the Super Bowl Championship. Former New York Mets legend, Ron Darling believes, Max will similarly take the Mets to new heights. Not to mention, the Mets have failed to clinch the World Series in 36 years.

Hence, the Mets are hoping Max will revolutionize the trajectory of the team. Ron Darling said, ”It’s palpable. You’re getting one of the great pitchers in the game and one of the great individuals you’re ever going to meet.”

He further added, ”I equate it to (Tom) Brady going to Tampa Bay. It might be a little different. But what did you think of Tampa Bay before Brady got there? You didn’t give them two thoughts. But because of who he is and what he brings, he goes there and you’re like, ‘Shoot, they’ve got a pretty good club.’ ” 

Considering the amount Mets have spent for Max, their expectations from him would be sky-high.
