Mark Wright has announced he’s quitting his evening Heart Radio show as the past year has made him ‘think about life slightly differently.’
The former Towie star has been hosting his show from 7pm to 10pm, Mondays to Thursdays, since March 2020 but is now cutting back on his time on the airwaves.
He will still host a Saturday evening show, from 4pm to 7pm and is passing his old job over to Dev Griffin.
Sharing a compilation of some of his finest moments, Mark wrote on Instagram: ‘I’ve had so much fun over the last couple of years on my evening show here @thisisheart I have been lucky enough to chat to some of the biggest stars in the world whilst playing the best feel good music there is to play.
‘It’s now time to pass over the reins to an incredible talent in @dev.
‘It’s been a terribly tough decision as I have had the time of my life every evening in the studio playing for you, but sometimes life moves in different directions and after the last year or so, it’s made me think about life slightly differently and it’s time to spend more time with what’s most important…. My family.’
Mark continued: ‘Here’s the better news, to all my loyal listeners I’m not going too far, as every Saturday from 4-7pm I will be here at heart with you doing what I do best, playing the best tunes to get you ready for Saturday night…. If you need getting up for Saturday night, you know where I am.
‘To my bosses and all my listeners. Thank you for the memories….❤️.’
Fans and friends shared the love for the presenter, with Olly Murs writing: ‘GUTTED I DIDNT MAKE THE EDIT! Next tour you’re binned 🤣 But seriously you’re non stop my Man! You deserve some time at home! 👌🏻❤️.’
‘Great work!! Xx,’ Giovanna Fletcher added, while Marvin Humes said: ‘Congrats mate..you’re a grafter son..enjoy your family time now!’
Mark has been married to Michelle Keegan since 2015, with the pair recently moving into their dream home in Essex and sharing the process with fans.
Just recently, Mark also opened up about his health, as he had a 12cm tumour removed.

The former Towie star, 34, shared a lengthy post on Instagram explaining how he had an operation on Wednesday following a series of consultations and shared three photos showing himself in the operating theatre.
Explaining he wanted to help others by speaking out, the star said: ‘I discovered a lump in my breast/armpit area. Not very big, but enough to cause concern and to be cautious enough to get it checked.
‘After some time the lump grew and began to bother me. I am someone that when it comes to life in general, I leave no stone unturned. When it involves health, this idiom quadruples.’
Mark said he saw another specialist, a breast consultant, for a second opinion and had an MRI scan before seeing a sarcoma specialist.
‘This specialist saw the scans around 10 days ago and today I was in theatre having this little git removed,’ he continued.

Mark said the tumour would be sent off for further testing.
He added: ‘MORAL OF THE STORY: If you notice anything that doesn’t look or feel quite right. Don’t leave it.
‘Nothing in life is more important than your health and well-being. Get checked, check yourself and make sure you take good care of yourself.’
