“Poverty Knicks Fans”: Twitter Erupts as New York Fans Chant “Fu*k Trae Young”
It’s quite ordinary for players to trash-talk with one another on the court. Often, there are also some fans that stand out of the crowd, trying to poke an NBA player. But it’s not every day that we see an entire arena hating on one person. So, as the 2021-22 season continues in full force, so does the New York Knicks fans’ rivalry with Trae Young.
However, we all know that Trae isn’t the kind to shut up and bear with it. Despite not being physically there to respond, the Hawks’ star had his own way of giving it back to them. In fact, even fans responded to the Knicks’ hate chant for Trae.
Trae Young has an epic response for Knicks fans’ reactions and Twitter can’t get enough
One of the most interesting storylines from last season was the rivalry between the New York Knicks and Trae Young. It was like nothing we had seen before, where an entire arena would brutally try to bash one NBA player. But with Trae breaking their title hopes after so many years, they believed it had to be done.
But Trae wasn’t one to quietly take it. He also responded in his own ways or even provoked them deliberately at times. And this time was no different. The Atlanta Hawks played the Knicks on Thursday and had to suffer a 101-87 defeat at the hands of their arch-nemesis. After which, Knicks fans decided to take their grudge out against their superstar point guard, Trae Young.
After the game ended, the arena was filled with ‘‘F**k Trae Young!’ chants. And even though Trae wasn’t there to defend himself, he had a hilarious response for them on Twitter. He wrote, “They only say it at the end now?!? Smart. *at least all I heard.”

Hawks and Knicks are at the same pedestal so far
The Hawks might have won the battle, but the war is what’s inching closer. And unfortunately, neither of the teams seem to be doing great enough to even be considered contenders. Atlanta is holding a 15-17 record in the East, while the Knicks have a 15-18 record.

But it is safe to say, it’s possible that the outcome of their match could have been different if the 23-year-old was playing. Trae has missed the last three games because of entering into the league’s health and safety protocols. As of now, there is no timeline for his return, which will continue to hurt the Hawks’ chances of securing a playoff berth.
