When Lewis Hamilton Deleted His Instagram Account in 2019 Following a Dramatic Outburst

Over the past few days, Lewis Hamilton has been receiving quite a lot of attention amidst his subtle yet noticeable decisions on social media. Following the heartbreaking Abu Dhabi GP, the Briton went off-radar by hardly ever giving out any updates through social media, which wasn’t the case over the whole of 2021.

He then unfollowed F1’s official Instagram handle, which consequently fueled the speculations that he could well be retiring from the sport altogether.

Then arrived an even shocking move from the 7-time world champion; Hamilton ended up unfollowing every single entity he had previously followed. And now, his list of followers stands at zero.

This has left the fans wondering, what is causing these suspicious actions from Hamilton? Is he actually going to retire from F1? We’re not sure! And in that case, nobody is. But, here’s something interesting, this isn’t the first time Hamilton has done something strange on Instagram.

Two years ago, Hamilton had just started to recognize the harm humans had been causing to the environment. Eventually, with an active racing career on one side, Hamilton got a bit too serious about reviving earth amidst the damages being caused on a daily basis.

Then arrived the shocking outburst! Hamilton blasted off at people who remained reluctant against caring about climate change. “Honestly, I feel like giving up on everything.

Shut down completely. Why bother when the world is such a mess and people don’t seem to care? I’m going to take a moment away to gather my thoughts. Thank you to those of you who do give a damn about the world,” he wrote on social media.

Unfortunately for Hamilton, his angry rant on social media did not go down well with the fans, as he ended up facing an insane amount of backlashes rather than support. Subsequently, Hamilton also deleted his Instagram account and stayed away from the toxicity for quite a long time.

Overall, his recent actions on social media don’t seem as concerning either. And again, it merely looks like he has simply taken a break from social media for a while. Hence, a return to Instagram is on cards for the 7-time world champion, possibly by around the start of 2022. But, will he?
