Manhunt in Wayne County, Illinois, as suspect ‘kills deputy, goes on carjacking spree, and holds woman hostage’

A MANHUNT is underway after a suspect allegedly killed a deputy before going on a carjacking spree and holding a woman hostage.

The suspect is believed to have shot a Wayne County sheriff, before carjacking at least five victims, a 44News reporter claimed.

St. Peters Police Department

One carjacking turned into a shooting at a QuikTrip at roughly 7.11am on Wednesday morning in St Peters, Missouri.

The suspect allegedly carjacked the victim and shot him in the process before fleeing.

The victim was hit in the shoulder and rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The victim’s vehicle was later found off of Highway 70, but the suspect was not inside.

He instead is believed to be in another vehicle – a white Nissan Titan pickup with Missouri license place 0WE-A43.

Police released images of the suspect who was wearing a light gray hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes. He should be considered armed and dangerous, cops said.
