‘He Is Human’: Nick Kyrgios Implores Tennis Community to Stop Disrespecting Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic, the world number one, is presently in a very precarious situation. He has been refused entry into Melbourne despite having a medical exemption due to a visa mix-up at the airport. Everyone has an opinion on the news, and this time it’s Nick Kyrgios who has expressed his thoughts.

The way the problem is being handled, according to the Australian, is quite awful. Kyrgios is unhappy with the memes and headlines that are circulating on the internet. He appears to be coming out in support of the 20-time Grand Slam champion, based on his statements.

Look I definitely believe in taking action, I got vaccinated because of others and for my mums health, but how we are handling Novak’s situation is bad, really bad. Like these memes, headlines, this is one of our great champions but at the end of the day, he is human. Do better.

Djokovic might miss a golden opportunity

Novak Djokovic is currently tied at 20 Grand Slam titles with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Djokovic has climbed up to 20 Majors having won three out of four titles in 2021. Considering the physical and mental toughness, the Serb has a golden opportunity to lift his 21st Grand Slam at the Australian Open 2022.

However, his participation seems to be impossible with the ongoing scenario. On the other hand, Rafael Nadal has already started to show a good sign of his comeback on the Australian circuit. If Djokovic isn’t allowed to compete, Nadal stands a decent chance to register a groundbreaking record.
