Rita Ora shares backstage glimpse at Sydney Mardi Gras before incredible performance
Rita Ora has given fans a look at what goes on behind the scenes of Mardi Gras in Sydney, Australia, before taking to the stage.
The singer, 30, showed off a host of outfits for the big occasion, including a crop top with enormous turquoise tulle sleeves and a rainbow-coloured asymmetrical unitard.
Rita donned a rainbow cape over a blue diamante encrusted leotard for her headline performance at the 43rdannual LGBTQI+ Mardi Gras, where she was greeted by screams from the crowd.
Part of her set saw her sing on top of a pick-up truck in the centre of Sydney’s Cricket Ground before confetti rained down on her and sparklers and flames flashed up around the edge of the stage.
Drag Race star Courtney Act was in the audience and shared her praise for Rita’s hit-filled set, writing: ‘It’s a Super Bowl Halftime show’.
Rita has been in Australia since last month after flying in for promotional duties for The Voice Australia’s 2021 season.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic she had to isolate in her hotel room for two weeks of mandatory quarantine on arrival in the country before being able to carry on with work.
Following Mardi Gras, Rita will remain in Australia to start filming for The Voice with fellow coaches Keith Urban, Jessica Mauboy and Guy Sebastian.
She recently told The Daily Telegraph: ‘I’m really grateful to have been invited here to be a part of The Voice this year.
‘I can’t wait to be able to mentor the amazing talent out here, let’s go.
‘Australia is home to some of my favourite musicians and writing partners I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.’
Her Mardi Gras outfits weren’t the only outlandish costumes she had packed for the trip, as she was seen wearing a silver ensemble just a day earlier, too.
