Eddie Hearn to Appeal WBC’s 80/20 Purse Split for Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte

Eddie Hearn looks to give Dillian Whyte his title shot. The Brit has looked for a title shot ever since he became the WBC interim champion in March last year. Following Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3, the WBC ruled Dillian Whyte as the mandatory challenger for Fury.

However, due to legal issues between the WBC and Whyte, the fight did not go through. Since then, several problems between Tyson Fury, the WBC, and Dillian Whyte have prevented the confirmation of the fight. In yet another attempt to set this fight up, Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn is appealing the WBC’s proposed 80/20 split for the fight.

“Yeah not really a huge amount of negotiations because obviously there was a ruling from the WBC of an 80/20 split. We don’t agree with that. We don’t feel like we should accept that. That will be appealed against, via the WBC, via arbitration, via a legal process.” Hearn said in an interview with talkSPORT Boxing.

“They’re very greedy”

Hearn also said that if this is the final ruling from the WBC, then they would move forward with purse bids and bid what they think is right. If they do end up winning the purse bid for the fight, the ball will be in their court and they will be the one making the demands for the fight.

Tyson Fury proposes a fight with UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou exchanged words on Twitter. Amidst contract disputes with the UFC, ‘The Predator’ hinted at a move to boxing and called out Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder. In response to this Fury posted a photo on his Twitter of himself alongside Ngannou asking fans if they would want to see him fight Ngannou.

Ngannou replied to Fury setting his own conditions to the fight, asking for an MMA-style fight with boxing gloves. Fury was having none of it and told Ngannou that he can’t come into his world and make demands. The conversation ended with the UFC champion stating that he would take Fury on anywhere, with any rules.
