YouTuber Josh Pieters ‘proves royal experts lie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’ in new stunt

YouTubers Josh Pieters and Archie Manners have ‘proven royal experts lie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’ in their new stunt.

The pair, who have pranked the likes of Katie Hopkins and Tiger King’s Carole Baskin in the past, spoke to various royal experts ahead of Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

In the video, they show the royal commentators, including Richard Fitzwilliams, Dickie Arbiter, Victoria Arbiter, and Ingrid Seward, speaking about the interview as if they had already seen it – days before it was actually broadcast.

Josh and Archie start the video by saying: ‘No one has actually seen what Meghan and Harry have to say. Instead, the airwaves are full of royal experts influencing public opinion by giving their views into the soap opera of the decade.’

They set up a fake production company, and told the experts in question that they would be broadcasting a post-interview analysis.

‘Would these paid commentators give a review of an interview they’ve not yet seen?’ Josh asked.

Answering the pair’s questions as if they’d seen the interview, the commentators spoke about ‘Meghan’s extremely strong language to describe her relations with members of the royal household,’ with one claiming that she was ‘acting’ and other saying it was ‘not a balanced interview’.

To really bring home their point, one moment sees Josh and Archie speaking about Meghan’s relationship with the ‘Balham Donkey Sanctuary’, with some of the experts going on to reference about her love of animals, which hasn’t been mentioned in any of the teaser clips.

Royal commentator Richard told Metro.co.uk following the video:  ‘Obviously I didn’t know it was a sting!

Richard Fitzwilliams

‘The arrangement was that the comments would be broadcast depending on what was in the interview, so nothing inappropriate would have appeared from anyone contributing.

‘We had by then seen two trailers. Together with the hype, it promised to be pretty toxic and define Harry and Meghan’s relationship with the royal family for the foreseeable future.

‘This sort of pre-record, known as “advanced fillers” is frequently done for various news stories, obituaries etc. so journalists have instant comment in the event of breaking news. There is nothing whatever dishonourable in it.

‘I would also make the point that because the comments of contributors have been used out of context, mainly on Twitter, does not alter the fact that Harry and Meghan should not in my view have given a “no holds barred” interview on why they were unhappy as working royals to Oprah, the world’s top chat show host.

‘They are now settled in California and financially independent, with lucrative deals and she is expecting. They already have a global profile, only held back by the pandemic. I say in the leaked tape that there is no real reason for giving this interview. How true!’

Dickie added to Metro.co.uk: ‘The approach from Beneath The Fold (note correct name) alleged to be a legitimate invitation for a fast turnaround, pre-recorded interview commissioned by a UK network, to be aired on Monday 8th March 2021.

‘This was deliberately misleading and a “scam”. I commented only on clips already in global circulation, but my interview was edited so as to imply I was speculating on the full programme interview. I was not speculating. I do not speculate.’

Josh and Archie have become known for their stunts, which often involve celebs and public figures.

In the past, they have nominated Gemma Collins for a Nobel Peace Prize, tricked celebs including David Walliams and Perrie Edwards into auditioning for a fake Borat movie, and fooled many into thinking that Ed Sheeran had turned up at the KSI and Logan Paul boxing match last year, with the help of an uncanny lookalike.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Dickie Arbiter, Victoria Arbiter, and Ingrid Seward for comment.
