He is a total knockout artist and is extremely entertaining inside the octagon. As of January 2022, the fighter stands fourth in the UFC men’s pound for pound rankings.

Recently, Ngannou spoke about his meeting with the UFC legend Georges St-Pierre in a recent interview which he shared on his official YouTube channel.

He said,” I think Georges St-Pierre is just a legend, you know. I wasn’t around when he was here. But I had the opportunity to meet him a couple of times.”

“Very great guy, very humble. You couldn’t imagine that he’s the Georges St-Pierre that you watch on TV, which is a superstar and everything. Very calm guy. French-speaking so he’s very proud of that side, of like a French connection. That’s why we get connected.”

Georges St-Pierre’s advice to Francis Ngannou

In the interview that Francis Ngannou shared on his YouTube channel, Ngannou spoke about the time he met Georges St-Pierre backstage after his fight against Michael Bisping at the iconic Madison Square Garden.

Ngannou said,” I watched his last fight in Madison Square Garden against Michael Bisping. That was his comeback after four years, and his performance that night was just incredible. But he told me in the backstage that man, it’s not easy to come back if you ever retired don’t come back after four years you know really cool.”

Georges St-Pierre is definitely a legend in the MMA world and every fighter looks up to him for the legacy he left behind in the sport. He returned to the octagon after four long years and put up one of the best performances the MMA world has ever witnessed.

What’s next for Francis Ngannou?

Francis Ngannou will take on his former teammate and the current UFC interim heavyweight champion, Ciryl Gane, at the UFC 270 event. The fight will headline the main card and will be held at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

This will be Ngannou’s first-ever title defense after his victory over Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 earlier last year.
