Huge Snapchat update could make you ditch WhatsApp TODAY

SNAP Inc has revealed a suite of new updates for its Snapchat app that might make users ditch WhatsApp for good.

The new features are meant to improve “[Snapchat’s] signature visual and ephemeral communication style,” to make it “even more fun for friends across Android and iOS,” a press release for Snap stated.

Snapchat revealed a slew of new features this week

One of the new features guaranteed to make a splash is ‘Chat replies’, which lets users reply to individual messages in an ongoing chat with several Snapchatters.

This new feature aims to “help you keep conversations on track and communicate with context,” according to the press release.

Snapchatters can use this feature by tapping and holding down on a message in Chat, then clicking ‘Reply’ to start a thread.

A second fun feature is ‘Bitmoji Reactions’, which allows Snapchat users a “quick and easy way to react to any messages on the go.”

The feature comes equipped with seven emotive responses that cover a range of expressions.

A third new tool called “Poll Stickers,” lets Snapchat users add Emoji-powered polls to both Snaps and Stories.

The Poll tool is meant to help friends survey each other for their thoughts and has been designed with a “visual-first approach” in mind as it utilizes Emojis over text.

Snapchatters on both iOS and Android can design their own Polls by choosing from a number of Emojis in the Sticker folder.

Snapchat reps added that the polls are not anonymous as to promote “a happy and healthy way to connect.”

Finally, Snap revealed that they have improved their video and audio calling tool to make live conversations more entertaining.

The feature includes new lenses as well as a way to preview who is active on a group call before joining.
