Tony Stewart’s Priceless Reaction at Being Inducted Into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame

One of the most highly regarded and all-round successful drivers in American motorsports history, Tony Stewart was recently inducted into another Hall of Fame. And this one would hit all the bells of nostalgia in Stewart’s mind. Because he is now inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Tony Stewart was one of the five drivers that will be inducted into the NSCHoF this year.

He is alongside names like Bob Frey, Eric Gordon, Tim Green, and Terray Gray; a list of names of which Stewart expressed his honor to be a part of.

He wrote on Twitter, “To have my name among the who’s who of sprint car racing is incredibly humbling. Truly honored.”

Before IndyCar and NASCAR, it all began for Tony Stewart in Sprint Cars

Way before the name Tony Stewart was a regular name in the upper-echelons of IndyCar and NASCAR, he was just a Sprint Car driver from Indiana.

In 1991, Stewart made his Sprint Car debut and ended up winning the Rookie of the Year award. He won his first Sprint Car race in the following year and put in some strong performances until 1995.

Because it was in 1995 that Stewart won the USAC “Triple Crown” after winning all three championships in Sprint, Midget, and Silver Crown divisions. Before Stewart, no driver had won those three titles in the same year, and naturally, his name shot up in the racing community.

Then the Stewart-Haas Racing owner entered IndyCar, then NASCAR, and the rest is, as they say, history.

There’s no doubt that the 50-year-old will be regarded even higher in the future because it’s unlikely any driver would replicate his success in that many forms of racing for that long a time.

So now, by being inducted into the NSCHoF, Tony Stewart adds another feather in his incredible legacy in American motorsports.
