Ant Middleton is reportedly hoping to use his SAS: Who Dares Wins exit to launch a comeback similar to Jeremy Clarkson and The Grand Tour.

Channel 4 severed their ties to the drill sergeant earlier this week, stating his ‘personal conduct’ did not align with their values.

It was later claimed he made lewd comments about having sex with a female contestant, something which he has denied.

Now Ant, who is maintaining he quit and wasn’t fired, is hoping to chase the same success as Jeremy Clarkson after he was fired by the BBC, and get his own streaming series.

‘Ant feels there is the possibility to emulate what Clarkson did,’ a source told Sunday People

‘He thinks there’s an audience for another military action hero-style show where he can be his authentic self.

‘Ant has ideas he has been mooting to production companies.’

Clarkson was fired from the BBC after punching a Top Gear producer in 2015 in a row over food, but Richard Hammond and James May stood behind him – also quitting the show as a result.

As a trio, they moved over to a multi-million pound deal with Amazon Prime, creating travel and car series The Grand Tour.

Since then, they have gone on to do their own spin-off series, with The Grand Tour becoming one of the UK’s most beloved Amazon shows.

Ant has condemned Channel 4 for his sacking, alleging that he had no idea the broadcaster was announcing his exit until he saw it in the papers.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, he also claimed he was leaving anyway, and dismissed any allegations of improper conduct on set, saying the ‘woke patrol’ were behind the claims and that any comments made were ‘military banter’.

He will still be seen on screen in the upcoming sixth series and celebrity spin-off, and will continue his work on SAS: Australia.

SAS: Who Dares Wins returns later this year on Channel 4.
