‘Giving Back to the Sport’: Andy Murray’s Mother Is All Praise for Rafael Nadal Ahead of the Australian Open 2022

Rafael Nadal is one of the popular names in the tennis world and one of the most universally admired. The reputation and recognition earned by the Spaniard over the years has been one of a kind. Beyond his unreal dominance on clay, the Spaniard is also known for his generosity and is always willing to help out in whatever way he can.

Recently, Rafael Nadal was spotted giving kids some words of advice in Melbourne. He was seen telling them that they should go on the court with the aim of being a better player as compared to themselves with each day passing by. Andy Murray’s mother, Judy, reacted to the clip on Twitter and was all praises for Rafa.

There would be moments during which youngsters would lose belief, but one should not lose focus and never doubt themselves, as per Nadal.

Noticing Rafa’s great advice, three-time Major winner Andy Murray’s mother Judy came across the clip and praised the 20-time Grand Slam winner for always being there for youngsters. She stated, “Love this. Giving back to the sport. Sharing experiences and expertise with the next generation.”

Over the years, Murray and Nadal have been great rivals. However, the respect and admiration for each other still remains high. In their careers so far, they have faced each other 24 times. The Spaniard has enjoyed a dominance in those encounters, winning 17.

Over the past year, they both struggled with form. Murray has been unfortunate and has missed a lot of tennis over recent years due to his hip problems. Rafa has been dealing with a foot injury that kept him out of action for the end of last season.

On the brighter side, they are looking in good shape and are competing in warm-up events prior to the Australian Open 2022. Rafa won the ATP Melbourne 250 event last week. On the other hand, Andy is in the final of the ATP Sydney event.

These results will provide them with the required confidence ahead of the first Grand Slam event of the season beginning on Monday. We wish both players the best of luck for the upcoming couple of weeks and the season ahead.
