Emma Corrin, Zendaya and Anya Taylor-Joy serve high fashion from their living rooms at virtual Critics Choice Awards

The Critics Choice Awards may have been forced to be held virtually due to ongoing pandemic restrictions, but the lack of a physical red carpet didn’t mean a lack of fashion.

In fact, some stars went even more all out than usual while sitting in their living rooms rather than stomping the red carpet, and for that we are eternally grateful.

Nominees and winners were serving high fashion looks from their couches at Sunday night’s Critics Choice Awards, with stars sharing pictures of their outfits to social media ahead of the ceremony – just in case their whole look wasn’t visible on Zoom.

The Crown’s Emma Corrin has been one of our favourites this awards season, and she’s been robbed of her opportunity to be crowned best dressed on a red carpet.

However, she can still bring avant garde while chilling at home, and the 25-year-old slayed in a bold Schiaparelli number.

Emma wore a black mini dress with a large cut-out over the bust, adorned with conceptual embellishments and matching earrings.

There was a whole load of action going on above the waist, making it perfect for when Emma accepted her award for best actress in a drama series for her performance as Diana Spencer in The Crown via video call.

Another one of our style favourites, Zendaya, opted for Valentino haute couture, in a stunning ballgown featuring a huge orange skirt and a white vest.

The 24-year-old, who was honoured with the #SeeHer award, paired her dress with braided hair and Bulgari jewels.

Anya Taylor-Joy opted for all out glamour to accept her award for best actress in a limited series for her performance in The Queen’s Gambit.

The 24-year-old wore a purple tulle gown with a braided west from the Dior Haute Couture spring/summer collection.

Amanda Seyfried brought a feminine twist to the tuxedo in a Miu Miu creation, wearing a pair of cropped black trousers with a highly embellished mesh top, featuring a shirt bib and bow tie.

The Mank star, 35, gets extra points for her post about her outfit, as she posed on a red carpet made of red chalk, while her daughter crashed the photo shoot.

Meanwhile, Golden Globe winner Andra Day rocked an unusual Prada number, featuring a purple and khaki bandeau which draped over a pair of trousers – all teamed with Chopard jewels, of course.

Other stars who killed it from home included One Night In Miami director Regina King, Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom star Viola Davis, Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot and Normal People’s Daisy Edgar-Jones.

Nomadland was the big winner in the movie categories, while Ted Lasso and The Crown took home multiple TV awards.
