The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power announces title, first trailer and release date on Amazon

A new age of The Lord of the Rings is upon us, after the title, release date and first trailer for the new Amazon Prime Video series was announced.
The highly-anticipated new show, titled The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, will arrive on September 22.
A new teaser was also revealed, showing the rings being forged and featuring a passage from the books very familiar to dedicated fans of the franchise.
‘Three things for the Elven kings under the sky,’ the voiceover in the clip reads.
‘Seven for the dwarf lords in their halls of stone. Nine for mortal men, doomed to die. One for the dark lord, on his dark throne in the land of Mordor where the shadows lie.’
It’s the first time the title has been revealed, with showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay saying: ‘This is a title that we imagine could live on the spine of a book next to J.R.R. Tolkien’s other classics.
