BLACKPINK’s Jisoo named global fashion and beauty ambassador for Dior
BLACKPINK star Jisoo has been named the global fashion and beauty ambassador for Dior.
The K-pop singer has become one of the faces of the fashion house’s Autumn/Winter 2021 collection, with her ‘contemporary femininity’ inspiring the brand to bring her on board.
Dior confirmed the news by sharing a series of glam shots to Instagram of Jisoo modelling some of their creations, writing: ‘As the new flobal Dior ambassador for both Fashion and Beauty, @Sooyaaa___ from girl group @BLACKPINKOfficial perfectly encapsulates the House’s contemporary femininity being shaped by @MariaGraziaChiuri and echoed by @PeterPhilipsMakeup.’
She was also a key inspiration for the creation of the #DiorFall21 collection, which she notes has ‘an underlying boldness to it that’s felt when the garment is worn.’
‘I myself may seem calm on the exterior, but as an artist I exert a more powerful attitude on stage.’
Jisoo later reposted the same snaps onto her own account, as she added: ‘So thrilled to join @dior as their new global ambassador for both fashion and beauty! I can’t wait for all the exciting work we’ll do together.
‘Hearing that the #DiorFall21 collection was largely inspired by myself made this shoot that much more special. Thank you!’
The 26-year-old also posted a set of thank you gifts from Dior, including a bouquet of roses and a note from the brand’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri, thanking her for attending the Autumn/Winter collection fashion show.
She also shared a few mirror selfies of her donning some items from the collection, including a patterned bucket hat.
Jisoo has worked with Dior since 2019, when she was first named the Korean ambassador for their cosmetics brand, Dior Beauty.
This new appointment makes Jisoo the latest BLACKPINK member to become a global ambassador for a French luxury fashion house, with fellow members Rose and Lisa named as global ambassadors for Saint Laurent and Celine respectively last year.
Meanwhile, Jennie has represented Chanel since 2018.
It comes amid a busy time for the BLACKPINK girls, with group member Rose set to release her upcoming solo project later this week.
