The Great Pottery Throw Down viewers left in stitches after innuendo-packed handle pulling challenge: ‘Can’t believe this filth is on before the watershed’

Viewers of The Great Pottery Throw Down 2022 were left in hysterics following this week’s challenge.
The remaining potters were tasked with creating 10 identical handles using the pulling method, before attaching them to mugs.
Master ceramist Florian Gadsby was brought in to demonstrate the challenge, leaving the contestants pretty starstruck.
However, their childish streaks soon came out to play, as the social media sensation showed them how to ‘pull’ a handle.
The method uses motions like milking a cow, causing host Ellie Taylor’s eyes to almost burst out of her head.
The comedian made some hilarious facial expressions as she watched Florian carry out the demo using rather suggestive motions.
Ellie had to cover her face with her hand at one point, as she just couldn’t stop laughing.
Not to mention the segment was packed with innuendoes, leaving viewers at home crying with laughter as Florian used ‘one wet hand’ to perfect his pulling before advising potters to ‘make sure it doesn’t come off too soon.’
Fans of the show took to Twitter to share their ‘disbelief’ that the ‘filth’ airs before the watershed at 7:45pm.
‘I just straight-up wouldn’t be able to do this handle-pulling challenge for laughing,’ tweeted one.
Another wrote: ‘Apparently I’m a big kid because I’m howling at the Pottery Throw Down.’
One added: ‘People are w**king bits of clay on my TV. It’s a Sunday for goodness sake!!!’
The challenge was won by Lucinda, who couldn’t believe it after being crowned champion of handle pulling.
She referred to her victory as ‘bonkers’ before joking: ‘Prosecco tonight!’
Pro Florian was incredibly impressed with her finished products, as she created a set of nearly-perfect mug handles.
Elsewhere in the episode, the nine potters were tasked with perfecting Japanese-inspired tea sets.
In Raku week, their teapot needed a bespoke handle made from another material, which saw the potters tested to their limits.

They had to impress judges Keith Brymer and Rich Miller following Josh’s exist last week, all hoping not to be the next person to go home.
