The world number 30 was full of emotions winning her semi-final match at the Australian Open. Being highly excited, she credited her constant dedication and hard work for her success.

Collins looked solid from the start of her semi-final match. Showing an aggressive style of play, she hit 7 aces, coupled with 27 winners, making Swiatek struggle to match up.

Danielle Collins started her 2022 season at the Australian Open. Entering Melbourne Park as a strong contender, she beat fellow American Caroline Dolehide in straight sets. After having a confident start, she next took on Croatia’s Ana Konjuh, winning in straight sets, yet again.

The third round saw Collins dropping a set. However, making a comeback, she took the next two sets, going on to beat Denmark’s Clara Tauson in the 3rd round. In the 4th set, Collins took on the 19 seed Elise Mertens, beating her in 3 sets.
Winning the 4 round with ease, Danielle entered the quarter-finals, where she faced French player Alize Cornet. She showed no mercy in the match, going to beat Cornety in straight sets yet again. Entering the semi-final with full confidence, Collins took control of the match from the start. Playing her natural game of groundstrokes, she took just 1 hour 18 minutes to beat 7th seed, Iga Swiatek, 6-4,6-1.

Collins will be eyeing her maiden Grand Slam title, as she will face the world number one Ashleigh Barty in the final of the Australian Open 2022.
