Lady Gaga screams vintage glamour on set of Gucci murder movie as she begins filming with co-star Adam Driver
Lady Gaga has bagged herself a role in an upcoming movie based on the Gucci family murder and her wardrobe for the film is seriously something.
The singer, 34, who is no stranger to movie sets after previously starring in Oscar-winning movie A Star Is Born, was spotted getting into character on set in Peimonte Italy.
The movie is set to retell the 1995 murder of the heir to the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci, who was shot in the head by a hitman.
While Marriage Story actor Adam Driver is set to star as Maurizio, Gaga plays Maurizio’s ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani, who served 29 years in prison for orchestrating his death, after he left her after 12 years for a younger woman.
She landed the nickname the Dark Widow and getting herself into the role as production got underway, Gaga was seen serving up some serious looks while channeling her inner Patrizia.
One scene saw Gaga dressed in a retro PVC red skiing all-in-one, with a gold buckle waist belt, snow boots and a furry cossack hat.
She was seen stood on snow-covered stairs as the cameras began to roll, while surrounding in film crew wearing green vests.
Another scene saw Gaga ditch her ski getup for yet another chic outfit that pulled together big shades, a buttoned up blazer and fur coat.
She layered up her costume with gold chains and swapped out her cossack hat for a classy white version, as she joined Adam, who was in character as Maurizio, on a balcony.
Adam was spotted holding a child while looking every inch the designer heir in white ski salopettes, a knitted turtle neck jumper and aviator glasses.
Both he and Gaga looked pretty unrecognisable as they set to work on the upcoming film, which is set for release in November later this year.
The film titled House of Gucci – based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden- is being produced by Ridley Scott, 83, and his wife Giannina.
Speaking about the Gucci murder movie, Giannina has previously said: ‘This project has long been a labour of love for both Ridley and me. The story is so epic, the stakes so high and the characters so richly drawn that we were determined to get it to the big screen.
‘To say we are thrilled to be teaming with Mike De Luca and his brilliant film group at MGM is an understatement.’
Boasting a stellar cast too, the film seems to have its sights set on Oscar nods, with Jeremy Irons starring as Maurizio’s father Rodolfo Gucci.
In August, it was reported Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jack Huston and Reeve Carney are all attached to the project too.
House of Gucci is set for release on November 24, 2021.
