Ashleigh Barty Joins Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Serena Williams After Australian Open 2022 Win

In today’s women’s singles final match at the Australian Open, we saw one of the best performances from a women’s player after a long time. World No.1, Ashleigh Barty beat Danielle Collins in a thriller of a match to clinch her first Australian Open and her third Grand Slam title in total. 

Throughout the whole tournament, Ashleigh Barty has been exceptional. She lost very few games in the whole tournament and reached the final without dropping a set.

Many people compared her dominant performance to Serena Williams’ dominance over the years. Incidentally, after this win, Barty joins an elite list of players, which will definitely make her proud. 

After her triumph at the Australian Open, Ash Barty has become only the fifth active player to win a Grand Slam on all three surfaces. Four other active players are Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and of course Serena Williams. It’s definitely an impressive feat for Barty, as her name is mentioned alongside the other four legends of this game.

Barty previously won the French Open in 2019 and Wimbledon in 2021. After her grass and clay court success, Barty finally has some success on the hardcourts.

In today’s match, Barty beat the American Danielle Collins in straight sets under 1 hour and 27 minutes, by 6-3,7-6. Remarkably, Barty won the whole tournament without losing a single set.
