Laura Whitmore is gearing up for the birth of her first child and she’s revealed that anyone and everyone has been sharing their words of wisdom with her – including one woman’s very graphic account of childbirth.

The Love Island host, 35, is expecting a baby girl with husband Iain Stirling and appearing on Steph’s Packed Lunch, Laura touched on how she has found her pregnancy so far.

Laura joked that people have been approaching her while out and about to comment on the fact she’s expecting, with one interaction leaving the Irish presenter a little horrified.

‘I’m not even joking people love to give you advice,’ Laura said.

‘I was in the park the other day and a woman I don’t know came up to me and said, “It’s like being ripped in half.”‘

Not exactly what you want to hear when you’re little one is soon to be making an arrival.

Laura has previously said that she has no plans to stop working ahead of giving birth and with Love Island set to make a return this summer, she’s confident that between them she and Iain will be able to juggle childcare with their working commitments.

Laura joked: ‘I’ll slow mo with the baby under my arm… no, I don’t think that would work. We’re very lucky that we never ever work the same days and times on that show.’

She continued: ‘We never actually work together, we have different schedules and I’m really happy to live in 2021 where, I think, women can work and have a family and have that support and I feel quite supported that way.’

The Celebrity Juice star confirmed her pregnancy in December on social media and said: ‘So I’ve always tried to be protective over the personal side of my life. A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we’ve chosen not to share publicly.

‘However I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share – and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control.’

‘Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021,’ she confirmed, adding: ‘‘It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet. Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning. I wasn’t hungover like everyone thought. In fact I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade!’

She and Iain have been together since 2017, after first being introduced by mutual friend Ore Oduba, and they secretly married in November last year.

Laura later confirmed news they had wed in Dublin just over a month after their nuptials on New Year’s Day.

Steph’s Packed Lunch airs weekdays on Channel 4 from 12.30pm.
