The reward Lady Gaga offered up for the safe return of two of her dogs who were stolen has not yet been released, as there are claims the shooting of her dogwalker might have been a gang initiation.

The singer, 34, had offered a reward of $500,000 (£360,000) to anyone who returned two of her French bulldogs, Koji and Gustavo, who were stolen during an armed robbery in which her dogwalker, Ryan Fischer, was shot in the chest.

One of her three dogs, Miss Asia, was recovered at the scene and the other two were later returned safe and well by a woman.

TMZ reports that she is yet to have received the sizeable reward as sources claim she has not yet been cleared by police.

They claim it is not believed that the woman had any part in the dognapping but are working to establish whether she ‘had any involvement after the fact’.

TMZ’s insiders say Gaga is more than willing to pay the woman if she is cleared by the police as not having any connection to the dognapping.

Los Angeles Police Captain Jonathan Tippet had previously said that the woman who brought the dogs in appears to be ‘uninvolved and unassociated’ with the attack.

The source also alleges that the shooting may have been part of a gang initiation, claiming there have been similar crimes in the Los Angeles area recently.

Following the news of the horrific crime, Gaga – who is currently filming in Rome for her new movie Gucci – had appealed on social media for her beloved dogs to be returned.

Her dogwalker is also expected to make a full recovery following the shooting, with Gaga said to be paying his medical bills following the attack.
