Loose Women presenter Carol McGiffin has denied a spat with Lorraine Kelly after sparking an outcry over a now-deleted tweet.
Carol, 61, appeared to brand a string of media personalities, including her fellow ITV co-star, 62, as ‘revolting human beings’ in the post, which has since been taken down.
According to reports, she was responding to a tweet featuring other TV stars such as Piers Morgan, Karren Brady and Dr Hillary Jones, which had the caption: ‘Profiting from other people’s misfortune. Msm [mainstream media] mercenaries.’
The Mirror reports that she wrote alongside her retweet: ‘I’d go further than that. They are revolting human beings and that’s being generous.’
Her response caused outcry on social media, as daytime TV fans rushed to defend Lorraine from the apparent dig.
However, in a statement to the publication, Carol has since confirmed that the tweet was an error, which is why she deleted it.

Speaking to the publication, she said: ‘Unfortunately I retweeted it without looking at the whole picture.
‘I didn’t see the bottom row and I deleted it as soon as I saw lovely Lorraine who has no place in that rogues gallery.’
It’s not the first time Carol has appeared to take a swipe at the TV presenter.
In November 2019, the pair had an awkward encounter, with Lorraine appearing on the show to promote her new book, the the Daily Star reported.

Carol then asked her: ‘Do you like talking about yourself, because your book is all about you?’ before Lorraine replied that it’s sort of book she hoped fans would enjoy and find helpful.
Carol also has a long-running-feud with TV personality and journalist Piers Morgan, and slammed him as a ‘hypocritical monster’ last August.
In response, he said: ‘I don’t have feuds with irrelevant has-beens.’
