I’m 19 and my 13-year-old brother’s my twin – I had no idea until recently, my parents just told me over lunch

A WOMAN has revealed the surprising moment she learned that her 13-year-old brother is actually her “twin”, despite her being 19.

Anna Hipkin uploaded a video explaining how she is an IVF baby, and had no idea that her brother was from the same batch of embryos until her parents sat her down and told her.

On her @annahipkinxo TikTok account, she said: “When you casually get told over lunch by your divorced parents that your 13 year old brother is actually your twin but you are 19.”

Many people were highly confused at her clip, and asked her to explain the full story.

In a follow-up clip, she added more detail, and said: “I didn’t expect this many people to be interested.

“We are both from IVF. I was put back in my mum and my brother was ‘put in the freezer’ for five years as an embryo.

“A couple of years later, four years later, my other brother was born, not from IVF.

“Then it got five years of Jack being in the freezer and they were ‘we’ll defrost him’.”

Some people questioned whether Anna and Jack are actually twins or simply siblings, as they never shared their mum’s womb together and are from different eggs.

However, many parents consider their IVF kids twins – even if they were born years apart – if they were conceived at the same time during the process and they are from the same batch of embryos.
