Rooney on Amazon Prime: How to watch new Wayne Rooney documentary

A feature-length documentary focusing on Wayne Rooney’s life on and off the pitch comes to Amazon Prime this week – but how can you tune in?

The one-off will follow the former Everton, Manchester United and England star, who is regarded as one of the greatest strikers of all time.

Various other big names also make appearances to reminisce about their time alongside Rooney, including Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham and Gary Neville.

His wife Coleen Rooney – and their children – also feature in parts, as well as other family members.

The former footballer will open up about some of the most memorable moments from his illustrious career, as well as addressing some more sensitive subjects for the first time alongside Coleen.

When is the Rooney documentary coming out?

Luckily, fans don’t have long left to wait until Rooney drops on the streaming service as it will land later this week.

Viewers will be able to tune in from Friday, February 11, to the documentary that lasts nearly two hours.

It will be available globally on Amazon Prime.

Fans will see snippets of Wayne throughout his incredible career, ending with himself in the present in his role of Manager at Derby County.

Wayne made his debut for Everton at the age of just 16, scoring on his first-ever appearance against Arsenal.

He’s most famous for becoming a record goal scorer for England, as well his long-running stint as a Man United player, where he won 16 trophies.

As well as looking at all the ups and downs of his time as a footballer, his marriage to childhood sweetheart Coleen is delved into.

Fans will see him go from a teenage starlet to one of the nation’s most beloved players in a period spanning two decades.

How to watch it in the UK

Rooney will not available on free-to-air TV at the moment.

But it will be available for all Amazon Prime Video users, when it is released later this week.
