Ryan Garcia Admits Canelo Alvarez’s Harsh Words Did Not Motivate Him

Ryan Garcia is one top-notch young guns of the modern era. He is a promising fighter who has some exuberant prowess in the bag. However, Garcia kept a dismal boxing run in 2021 and that didn’t impress a lot of boxing purists and fighters, and one of them was Canelo Alvarez.

The p4p king, last year, spoke about Ryan Garcia and his boxing run, which later accrued many reactions. Many felt there was a rift between the two men. However, ‘King Ry’ considers Canelo as his big brother and he only took his comments in a positive way.

Recently, Garcia was in a chat with CompuBox TV. Here, he spoke about Canelo‘s comments and more.

But you know I mean from what he said that’s probably true but I, I was going through a hard time and I was obviously in a very dark place so I wasn’t in the gym it’s because I couldn’t bring myself to do anything at those moments,” he said.

Last year, Ryan Garcia only took one fight, and that was against Luke Campbell. The duo fought for the WBC interim lightweight title and ‘King Ry’ won the fight by landing a cracking body shot on the Briton.

Ryan Garcia will take up the ring space on April 9 against Emmanuel Tagoe. This will be a high-voltage return and everyone would expect Garcia to put up a terrific show.
