Dana White Reveals Political Interest From Hawaii & Africa to Host UFC Fights
UFC president Dana White revealed big plans for the promotion after one of the biggest events of the year.
The second pay-per-view of 2022 took place inside the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas today. UFC 271 lived up the hype and delivered entertaining fights to the fans. Israel Adesanya went to war against Robert Whittaker and defended his middleweight gold via a unanimous decision in the main event.
Meanwhile, Tai Tuivasa secured a stunning knockout win over Derrick Lewis in the co-main event of UFC 271. It was the second successful pay-per-view of the year after UFC 270: Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane.
However, UFC has some more upcoming exciting events for the fans this year. After a long hiatus, the promotion will have its first-ever UFC Fight Night event in London, England in March this year. Also, the UFC boss Dana White shared big news for the African fight fans.
In the post-press conference, White said, “It’s as big as anywhere else we wanna go. It’s been what two and a half years now we been to Vegas, California, New York, Texas ten times, and Arizona and Florida. So there’s a lot of places to go and a lot to do.”
“But yeah, Africa is a big one for me. Yeah, I definitely wanna do Africa. There was a politician here tonight from Hawaii who was saying you know, we want you guys in Hawaii, which we never been able to get done.”– he added.

“That’s a big for me too. So yeah, there’s a lot of places we wanna go. But Africa is when I look back on my career I wanna do a fight in Africa.”– White concluded.
Dana White says Jared Cannonier is next in line for middleweight gold
The number three middleweight contender Jared Cannonier bagged his second win in a row. He defeated one of the top-5 fighters from the division Derek Brunson via a knockout in the second round today.
In the octagon interview with Daniel Cormier, ‘The Gorilla’ pointed at the UFC boss and demanded a shot at the title after quite a good run in the promotion. Interestingly, his demands might be fulfilled soon.
In the same post-fight press conference, the UFC kingpin lauded Cannonier’s performance and also claimed he won’t say no for his demands to fight for the title next.
