Jimmie Johnson, Bubba Wallace, Chase Elliott Lead the Reactions From the NASCAR Community on the Epic Super Bowl Night as the Rams Defeat the Bengals

One of the biggest sporting events on the planet, the NFL’s Super Bowl, recently took place in the city of Los Angeles. And perhaps for the first time in history, the halftime show of a Super Bowl literally surpassed the game itself in terms of popularity and sheer disbelief of the moment, something which even caught the NASCAR stars like Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson and others by surprise.

The game between the Bengals and the Rams really lived up to the hype, as well as the home team won their second Lombardi trophy. But despite that, most of the focus was on the halftime show that had a lineup that nobody could’ve seen coming, and nobody would predict to come again.

Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Kendrick Lamar, the pioneers of the rap and hip hop music scene all came together to headline this year’s Super Bowl.

And the icons of stock car racing couldn’t help but take notice.

Chase Elliott got his prediction right

Before the Clash at the Coliseum, a few of NASCAR’s big names, including Chase Elliott, were asked for their predictions for the Super Bowl. And the Hendrick driver, who hails from Georgia, naturally picked the team with the quarterback from Georgia, which is the Rams with Matthew Stafford.

In fact, it was Stafford’s brilliance that came out to be decisive in a thriller of a game that lived up to the myth of the city it was played in.

Matthew Stafford, the Rams quarterback, showed his sheer skill and composure as he engineered a 15-play drive that led to a touchdown pass, swiftly executed by MVP Cooper Kupp with less than 90 seconds on the clock.

The Rams defeated the Bengals 23-20  as their head coach, Sean McVay, lauded the incredible “resilience of this team.” 

“Guys stepped up when they had to. That’s what makes this team great. That’s why they are world champs,” he said.
