Coronation Street fans go wild as they recognise Joseph’s granny Linda actress from EastEnders
CORONATION Street fans have gone wild after recognising Joseph’s granny Linda as an actress from another soap.
The character landed on the cobbles after flying in from Portugal during a tense showdown dubbed ‘Granny Wars’.

BBCActress Jacqueline was actually part of the EastEnders cast[/caption]
Posh Linda Hancock, played by Jacqueline Leonard, was seen stepping on the toes of much-loved long-standing character Bernie Winter.
The OAP has been seen visiting her grandson Joseph, as well as his dad Chesney Brown, who has been struggling to make ends meet.
Their lives have been rocked as Linda suggested in the most recent episode that she should take her grandson back to Portugal.
But rather than being focused on the drama, fans have been distracted trying to figure out where they have been Jacqueline, 56, before.
The actress actually played Lorraine Wicks, the mum of Joe Wicks – played by Paul Nicholls – on EastEnders in the 1990s.
She featured on the BBC One soap from 1996 to 1997, as one fan took to Twitter to note they had figured it out.
“Probably a bit late to the party, but I’ve just clocked Joe Wicks’ mum from EastEnders has rolled up on Corrie playing posh nan,” they wrote.
“Corrie fans, did you know that Linda played Joe Wicks’ mum in EastEnders?” a second chimed in.

They shared a snap of Jacqueline from her EastEnders days, looking fresh-faced as a teen having just joined the soap.
“I knew she looked familiar, this is what she looked like back then,” a third replied to the social media snap.
“I just realised it’s the woman who played Joe Wicks’ mum Lorraine,” a fourth concluded, noting it was “her voice” that made “it click”.
It comes days after T4 legend Anthony Crank was spotted among the Coronation Street cast after joining as a mysterious man from Abi Franklin’s past.
The television presenter – who hosted the Sunday morning Channel 4 show between 2002 and 2005 – looks unrecognisable in filming pictures.
Millions turned in in the noughties to watch Anthony and fellow T4 presenters like Alexa Chung, Rick Edwards and June Sarpong for the hangover television.
Now filming pictures show Anthony sitting in a car with actress Sally Carman filming scenes for the ITV soap.
A source said: “Anthony is playing a man from Abi Franklin’s past. The question is whether he’s a friend or a foe.”
