Emmerdale fans in shock as vicar Charles betrays Manpreet with Meena Jutla

EMMERDALE fans are in shock after Charles Anderson betrayed Manpreet Sharma by agreeing to visit her killer sister Meena Jutla in prison.

The vicar – who is played by actor Kevin Mathurin in the ITV soap – was begged by Meena to visit him last night to help her find forgiveness.

It was obviously a scheme after she was charged with her crimes.

The detective told her: “We’ve liaised with the CPS and we have what we need now.

“Meena Jutla, I am charging you with the murders of Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker.

“I am also charging you with the attempted murders of Victoria Sugden and Leyla Cavanagh and for possession of an unregulated firearm.

“And for the kidnapping, false imprisonment and attempted murders of Manpreet Sharma and Vincent Dingle.

“And for the kidnapping and false imprisonment of Dawn Fletcher and Billy Fletcher.

“And I am arresting you for assaulting PC Harriet Finch. 

“You do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention when questioned something you later rely on in court. 

“Anything you do say may be given in evidence.”

Meena looked delighted with the charges and simply breathed a sigh of relief when he had finished reading them out.

But afterwards she put another plan into action.

Calling Vicar Charles from prison, she begged him for help to find forgiveness in another twisted scheme.

But after agonising over his decision all day, Charles finally made it – and he betrayed Manpreet.

Picking up his phone he called the prison and said: “I know it’s short notice but any chance of a prison visitor’s order for tomorrow. 

“She phoned me yesterday and told me she wanted to see me – Meena Jutla.”

Viewers were in shock at his decision. 

One wrote: “Wait until Manpreet finds out what you’ve done, Charles #Emmerdale.”

A second said: “Tut tut Charles.”

Another added: “Why is it when Charles’s ex wife came he couldn’t forgive her for abandoning him and the son but he can forgive a psycho? #emmerdale.”
