While many people have experienced their fair share of embarrassing parent moments, a reporter being interrupted by his mum during a broadcast is definitely on another level.

Myles Harris, a journalist for ABC 6 in Columbus, Ohio, was in the middle of recording a segment for the local news station while standing in the street when his mother showed up, taking him completely by surprise.

In the video, which he shared on Instagram, the 30-year-old was speaking to the camera when he turned to the side, spotting his mum in her car and lifting his arms up in exasperation as other vehicles drove past in the background.

‘It’s my mum, hold on,’ he told his camera operator DeAngelo Byrd, as she approached him with her window down.

‘Hi baby!’ Myles’ mother, Sandi, exclaimed said excitedly, as DeAngelo burst into laughter over the unexpected turn of events.

‘I’m trying to work right now and you’re over here calling my phone,’ he said, adding: ‘This is DeAngelo, you can say hi,’ as Sandi greeted her son’s colleague.

Myles told his mum not to hold up traffic, as there were several cars behind her at the time.

At this point, she blew him a kiss and drove away – before the reporter realised that the entire interaction had been caught on camera.

‘Did you record that?!’ he asked DeAngelo, as the camera operator continued to chuckle.

Luckily he did, with the clip going viral on social media as Myles shared it on his personal Instagram page.

Several Instagram users commented on how relatable they found the scenario, with one saying: ‘My mom would absolutely do this.’

‘It’s the “Hi bayybee” fah me,’ someone else said, while another wrote: ‘The best moment of 2022 thus far.’

He later shared a picture of himself with his mother on Instagram, writing in the caption: ‘Far from normal work day. Wouldn’t be able to do it without my best friend ❤️ #hibaby.’
