Holly Robinson Peete claims Sharon Osbourne said she was ‘too ghetto’.
The 68-year-old has come under fire for her comments on The Talk this week, during a heated chat about race with Sheryl Underwood.
Following the scenes, former co-star Holly spoke about her experience on the show, stating she was ‘mortified’ while watching the scenes unfold.
Taking to Twitter, the 21 Jump Street actress – who left the series in 2011 – tweeted: ‘I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too “ghetto” for #theTalk…then I was gone.
‘I bring this up now bc I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took w/her co host who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to #fbf.’
She added: ‘To be clear: I LOVED being on #thetalk- it was a natural fit for me.
‘I was in my element being let go was a tough experience…but sometimes awesome gifts come in humiliating packages….
‘But I mostly miss working with @LeahRemini – we had so much chemistry! (Maybe too much) #fbf.’
Sharon has yet to publicly address Holly’s posts, which are still visible on her page.
The former X Factor judge made headlines earlier this week over an intense discussion with Sheryl on Wednesday’s episode, which focused on the backlash surrounding Piers Morgan’s comments about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, and their bombshell Oprah Winfrey interview.
She revealed she had been accused of being racist by defending her pal – who quit Good Morning Britain this week after sparking 41,000 complaints when he stated that he didn’t believe the Duchess of Sussex when she said she had been suicidal.
As the fallout continued, Sheryl and Sharon discussed the backlash on The Talk, with their conversation going viral.
Sharon said: ‘Did I like everything he said? Did I agree with what he said? No. Because it’s his opinion. It’s not my opinion… I support him for his freedom of speech, and he’s my friend.
‘I’m not racist… I don’t care what colour or what religion anyone is. Are you a nice person? That’s what I judge you on.
‘I very much feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend, who many people think is a racist, so that makes me a racist? What does it gotta do with me?’
‘It is not the exact words of racism, it’s the implication and the reaction to it,’ her co-star calmly explained.
‘To not want to address that because she is a Black woman, and to try to dismiss it or to make it seem less than what it is that’s what makes it racist.
‘But right now, I’m talking to a woman I believe is my friend and I don’t want anybody here to watch this and think we are attacking you for being racist.’
CBS announced they have now initiated an internal investigation into the scenes.
‘We are committed to a diverse, inclusive and respectful workplace,’ a spokesperson told People in a statement.
‘All matters related to the Wednesday episode of The Talk are currently under internal review.’
Metro.co.uk has contacted CBS for a comment. Sharon’s reps have declined to comment.
