I’m a cleaning whizz…Here are the top six tips to know about your dryer, including a genius aluminum foil hack

A CLEANING guru has shared her key tips when using laundry dryer, including a savvy hack for static cling.

The TikTok-famous cleanfluencer, Neat Caroline, revealed the six hacks she can’t live without on social media, where the video has been seen almost 18,000 times.

The New Yorker’s first tip was to place balled-up aluminium foil in the dryer – this, according to her, will prevent static cling from forming.

Research shows that foil balls will both discharge any static build-up and will also help to keep the clothes separated.

Caroline also added: ”Always empty your lint trap after each load – too much lint an be a fire hazard.

”Remove the lint screen, wash it with warm soap and water, and use a vacuum to get any remaining bits out of the lint trap!”

It is also important, she said, to routinely clean the lint that has accumulated in the lint cavity over time – this can be done with a dry rag or a paper towel.

When it comes to placing your garments in the dryer, Caroline recommended turning them inside out, in order to prevent them from piling and fading.

Another hack is throwing in a few wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets.

The cleaning whizz explained that doing so not only will keep your clothes soft but will also speed up the drying time.

While many will rely on the machine for a quick drying process, not all items are suitable for heated treatment.

This is particularly the case with stained garments: ”Heat can set in the stain and make it permanent,” she explained, saying the safest option is to air-dry such clothes.

Last but not least, looking after the dryer is just as vital as taking care of the clothing you put in.

”Clean the heat exchanger of your dryer regularly to keep it running as smoothly as possible.

”Pull it out, rinse under cool water, let it dry, then place it back in the cavity,” the guru demonstared.

Viewers were impressed, with some taking it to the comments’ section to reveal their thoughts.

”You can also use a used dryer sheet. Gets ALL the lint,” a viewer shared her recommendation, whilst another added: ”You forgot to add don’t over dry your clothes.”

”I absolutely ADORE your account! I’m a new housewife and it’s soo helpful!” a fan thanked.

One sceptical user wasn’t so convinced and was wondering: ”Isn’t aluminum in the dryer a fire hazard?”
