Jusuf Nurkic Lashes Out at Portland’s “Local Media” for Suggesting Damian Lillard Trade

One of the league’s most sought-after players is Damian Lillard. Currently out with injury, the Portland Trail Blazers star has been linked to major teams across the league all year long.

Despite being crucial for the Portland roster, Portland local media are suggesting trading Lillard. In a massive outburst on  Twitter, teammate Jusuf Nurkic shuts them down. According to the Bosnian star, Damian is the greatest Portland player ever, and trading him is a stupid decision.

Teammate comes out in support of Damian Lillard

Damian Lillard is currently one of the biggest names in the league. The Blazers star is a crucial member of the team’s roster and has been linked to teams all around the trade season. Most famously, Lillard had links with the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite not making any moves in the trade season, his future with the franchise remains in the air.

With Lillard out with injury, the team is struggling. The Trail Blazers are currently 10th in the Western Conference and are fighting for a playoff spot.

Amidst all their struggles, the local media in Portland is suggesting a trade for Damian Lillard. In a major lash-out on Twitter, teammate Jusuf Nurkic came out in support of Lillard.

Popular media outlet ‘Blazers Edge’ put out a news article suggesting why trading Lillard is the most viable option. Afte rcomming across the article, Nurkic let everyone know what he thinks about the same with a reply from his official handle. His tweet read, “Not sure why I see this one. Dave you bored or wanting another job… But to think this is right??...”

Should Lillard be traded?

The local media outlet is not the first one to ask for a Damian Lillard trade. Popular analyst and NBA legend Charles Barkley also talked about trading the star.

According to the Hall of Famer, the Portland Trail Blazers should get rid of Lillard and start a rebuild. Talking on the NBA on TNT show, he said, “They gotta get rid of Dame first, that’s the biggest piece to go … I’ve said it before. They’ve got to trade Dame, start the rebuild.”

Despite all his injury woes this season, Lillard still has great stats. He averages 24.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game.
