America’s Got Talent airs tribute to Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski after death aged 31

Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski was honored with a tribute during last night’s America’s Got Talent episode following her death last month.
The talented singer famously appeared on season 16 of AGT in 2021, and was awarded with Simon Cowell’s coveted golden buzzer.
After a battle with cancer, she died on February 19, aged 31.
At the very end of Monday’s instalment of the spin-off, America’s Got Talent: Extreme, a message was aired in tribute.
‘In memory of Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski,’ it simply read.
Nightbirde made headlines with her stunning audition last year, performing an original song titled It’s Okay, about her cancer battle – with the track quickly climbing up the iTunes chart soon after.
‘Last time I checked, I had some cancer in my lungs, spine and my liver,’ she told the judging panel at the time.
‘It’s important that everyone knows I’m so much more than the bad things that happened to me.
‘I have a 2% chance of survival but 2% is not 0% – 2% is something and I wish people knew how amazing it is.’
Nightbirde was unable to complete the competition as her health took a turn for the worse, meaning that she was forced to drop out of the series.
TMZ broke the news of her death last week, with a source explaining that she was receiving treatment for cancer, which had spread to her lungs, spine and liver.
‘After a four-year battle with cancer, Jane Kristen Marczewski, also known as Nightbirde, passed away on February 19th, 2022,’ her family said in a statement.
‘Many remember her from America’s Got Talent, where she performed her hit song It’s OK and inspired millions of people around the globe with her messages of faith and never giving up.
‘Those who knew her, enjoyed her larger-than-life personality and sense of humor. She had a witty joke for every occasion—even if the joke was on her.

‘Her lasting legacy will be the gift of hope she gave to so many through her music and the strength she found in Jesus. – Marczewski Family.’
Taking to Twitter, Cowell was among the stars offering his condolences to the music hopeful.
‘Heart breaking news to hear about @_nightbirde, she was an extraordinary person, so brave, so talented,’ the 62-year-old tweeted.
’She made a huge impact on AGT and the world. Her determination to fight this terrible illness was remarkable.
‘Rest in peace, Jane. I am sending my love to her family. Simon.’
