Sharon Osbourne has spoken out after Holly Robinson Peete accused her of getting her fired from The Talk and has shared a private email from her former colleague.

Earlier this week, the presenter 68, clashed with Sheryl Underwood, 57, on the show with the former X Factor judge defending Piers Morgan after the ex-Good Morning Britain host criticised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Oprah Winfrey interview.

Holly, who was one of the original hosts of the CBS panel show but left after just one series, was then prompted to share her experiences of The Talk and made public allegations that Sharon was the reason behind her exit.

‘I’m old enough to remember when Sharon complained that I was too “ghetto” for #theTalk…then I was gone,’ she wrote.

‘I bring this up now bc I was mortified watching the disrespectful condescending tone she took w/her co host who remained calm & respectful because…she HAD to.’

Sharon denied playing any part in Holly’s departure from the progrmame in a statement posted on Twitter.

She also shared a personal email from Holly, dated after her exit in 2011, which does not appear to show any bad blood between them.

‘In response to Holly Robinson Peete’s accusation of me getting her fired from The Talk, I am sharing an e mail sent to me from Holly one month after she was let go by CBS,’ Sharon penned on Twitter.

‘As I have stated before, I have never had the ability/authority to get anyone fired from The Talk.’

She added: ‘An addendum to my previous Tweet. Never in my life did I utter the words that Holly was “too ghetto” to be on the Talk, as well as not having her fired.’

In an interview in 2011, Holly said she didn’t know why she was axed from the talk show.

‘Still to this day, I don’t know,’ she told the Hollywood Reporter. ‘I speculate in my mind, but in trying to move forward all I can say is, “Hey, is it because of my performance?” I don’t think so.’
