Ex-NFL Player Greg Hardy Under Risk of Missing UFC 272 Showdown After Arriving a Massive 26 Pounds Overweight
UFC has served as an alternate career option for many top athletes of various sports. Ex-NFL players like Brendan Schaub, and now Greg Hardy (7-4-1) have built their life once again after leaving the field. Hardy’s journey in the promotion hasn’t been free of controversy, as the mixed martial artist has already landed himself in numerous problems. It looks like the UFC Star is once again going to face a similar situation ahead of his fight at UFC 272, as reports claim that he is 26-pounds away from the heavyweight limit.
Dana White offered Hardy a chance to redeem himself by placing him in the contender series. The former NFL player picked up two impressive wins in the series to cement his place in the promotion.
However, his time in MMA hasn’t been so smooth, as the fighter has suffered 4 brutal losses. He is poised to face heavyweight fighter, Sergey Spivak next at UFC 272, but it seems he might not turn up for the showdown.
In case anyone is curious how much Greg Hardy has to cut to hit heavyweight, he indicated in an Instagram post Tuesday he arrived at fight week weighing 291 pounds. #UFC272

Will UFC cut Greg Hardy if he fails to make weight?
The 33-year-mixed martial artist has already made a number of mistakes in his stint as an MMA fighter. In his first outing, he suffered a devastating DQ loss against Allen Crowder as he threw an illegal knee. Later on, managed to bounce back with two-quick knockouts, but failing to comply with the rules of MMA is definitely not a good sign. Hardy mistakenly used an inhaler during his bout against Ben Sosoli, which originally won, but it was later on overturned by the commission. It seems like following all the rules of the sport is not his strongest suit, and something similar could most likely happen at UFC 272,

UFC president Dana White has already granted him enough chances, and if he fails to keep up his end of the deal this week, then the promotion could cut him loose. Hardy has entered his fourth year with the promotion and there is simply no excuse that can make up for his shortcomings.
